FULL OF COLOR

Funky yet elegant, the interior is bathed in color & warmth

Originally opened in Belltown in 2003 and relocated to its beautiful, more spacious Capitol Hill home in 2010, Donna Moodie’s restaurant Marjorie is named in homage to her beloved mother. A warm, welcoming hostess and inspired home cook, Marjorie delighted in bringing people together around the family table to partake of delicious food and spirited conversation.

Trailing Marjorie around the kitchen as a young girl in Jamaica, Donna gained respect for uncompromising “scratch” cooking using only the highest quality ingredients, supplied by local merchants and farmers whenever possible. She also absorbed her mom’s ability to nurture a diverse mix of friends, family and guests with her unique brand of gracious hospitality. Over her 25-year career as a restaurateur in Seattle, Donna has always sought to emulate the values Marjorie instilled in her and use them to build and celebrate community. Today she continues to see to it that Marjorie’s joie de vivre and passion for entertaining inform every detail of the restaurant named lovingly in her honor.

The Marjorie restaurant on Capitol Hill closed in March 2023. Stay tuned for updates on what Donna's cooking up next!
